Rev.19:10----- For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy:

Right sources of prophecy-----

1 -- Rom.12:6  According to the proportion of faith--the word proportion broken down is in 2 parts:
1.repetition, intensity, distribution
2--.the purpose of utterance ; simply said ,  "Draw from the nature of faith repeatedly"

(2) Always come from the finished work of Christ it keeps you in the new covenant living from a platform of rest.

(3)  Draw from the nature of Jesus;  grace, peace, and mercy, not a  warring or critical spirit

(4) Draw from the good word of God that will bring life and builds confidence.

Wrong sources of prophecy--

(1) That which exalts and builds up the prophet.  (Avoid all the clichés or predictability of those who prophesy it will keep you sharp)

(2) Sympathetic prophecy-----Gained by acquaintance or external appearance.

(3) Advise giving prophecy-----This should be given by consent in a setting of counseling, not prophesy.

(4) Avoid prophecies that are mixed with financial gain for the prophet. Micah 3:11 and those who bring blessings or curses based on obedience and disobedience.

(5) Well wishing prophecies--- This comes out of the human spirit with good intentions;   should be given as a prayer of blessing.

Blessings of true  Prophecy----

(1) Brings the manifest presence of the Lord releasing joy.

(2) Brings true hope and anchors the soul.

(3) Gives us advantage over our enemies.

(4) Help us make the vision plain.

Prophecy and prophetic ministry can be kept simple and to the point building up those who receive it.  If it is  from the Spirit of God,  it will be revealing Jesus and exalting His Lordship in our lives.  If it is not,  it is not the Holy Spirit.
